General information on the University of Óbuda
Although Obuda University gained university status in 2010, it is already a key player in Hungarian higher education and a leading practice-oriented institution providing technical education in Hungary, where over 12,000 students pursue their studies. According to the latest Times Higher Education 2022 report, Obuda University is Hungary’s top-ranked technical university.
It offers competitive knowledge in engineering, computer science, science, economics and teacher training in 7 faculties, 2 education centers, 17 undergraduate programs and 11 master’s programs. Master’s graduates can continue their studies in three doctoral schools.
The quality of teaching is attested to by the fact that the institution has a quality certificate in line with the requirements of the ISO standard and has achieved the highest recognition, the Higher Education Quality Award. Obuda University provides 21st-century answers to the challenges of modern industry in the fields of cybersecurity, robotics, automation and healthcare IT, as well as education for light industry and design planning for the high-tech fashion industry.
The management of Obuda University cooperates with many renowned national and international higher education institutions and companies. As a result, a large number of students can participate in Erasmus+ scholarship programs. As part of this program, many international students can also study at Obuda University. The management of Obuda University has recently implemented several infrastructural developments, such as the complete renovation of the Kandó Kálmán residence, which now accommodates 400 students in a modern building. In addition, other institutional developments are planned, such as the concentration of technical programs on the Óbuda campus.
